AST Dispatch performs a ready line service inspection at the beginning of each day. This inspection includes servicing, service inspection, "OPS" checks, and any required adjustments.

These service inspections are performed only on the Support Equipment, which is on the AST ready lines.

The service inspections are done by one of two methods: power "on" and power "off". A power "off" inspection is performed on all equipment before it is dispatched from the ready line. This power "off" inspection will conform to the requirements of work cards to ascertain that all equipment delivered and positioned in work areas arrives in a serviceable/operational condition. Only qualified AST personnel are authorized to perform a power "on" inspection. This inspection is limited to those end items of equipment located on the AST ready line and includes a complete operation check as described in the work cards or other technical publications in addition to those checks comprising a power "off" inspection.
